Mentor Worldwide LLC manufactures breast implants and is part of Johnson & Johnson MedTech. It is one of the longer-established makers in the field and its devices have been used in reconstruction as well as aesthetic surgery for several decades.
The range includes round and shaped silicone gel implants in a variety of profiles and, in some markets, saline-filled devices.
As with any implant, the device is one factor among several and rarely the decisive one. Chest measurements, tissue cover and the surgical plane matter more to the result than the manufacturer’s name, and the long-term considerations — capsular contracture, rupture, and the likelihood of further surgery at some point — apply to every silicone implant regardless of who made it.
Naming a manufacturer is not a claim that one system produces a better result than another. Outcomes depend far more on planning, on the surgery itself and on how you heal than on whose system is used. Ask for the make, model and reference number of anything implanted, in writing, before you travel home.
