Nobel Biocare manufactures dental implants and prosthetic components, and traces its origins to the Swedish work that established osseointegration — the process by which bone bonds to a titanium surface — as the basis of modern implant dentistry.
The company originated the All-on-4 treatment concept, in which a full arch of teeth is supported on four implants, two of them angled to make use of available bone and often avoid the need for grafting.
As with any system, the manufacturer is less important to the outcome than the planning, the surgery and the condition of the bone. What matters practically is that the system is documented and its components remain available: ask for the make, model and reference number of your implants in writing before you fly home. A clinic that provides this as a matter of course is making your future treatment easier anywhere.
